The Foundation for Hungarian Patients with Multiple Sclerosis is preparing an international meeting at Pécs in strong cooperation with the University of Pécs. Besides the Past and Future conference there will be an other symposium at Pécs for professionals, neuroimmunologists interested in antibody-mediated nervous system diseases (MS and Neuroimmunology Days, Pecs, March 25-26, 2011).

We look forward to meeting you in Pécs, Hungary, the European Capital of Culture 2010. The goal of our meeting is to set a frame for further cooperation in MS care and rehabilitation and to create an opportunity for discussions with special interest to the Central and Eastern European countries.

The event organized for the representatives of civil organizations and patients with MS is part of a more complex congress. At the same time in March 2011, an international symposium is planned for neurologists and neuroimmunologists specialized in MS care. The combination of the two meetings will provide a special opportunity for MS specialists and MS patient organization representatives to interact and meet each other.

Participants are going to be patient organizations’ representatives from Central and Eastern European EMSP member states. We are really pleased that till this time 10 countries have already signed up for the meeting.

Main topics are going to be:
• Roles of MS centers and patient organizations
• Cross-border and international MS cooperation
• New rehabilitation strategies – the way forward
• Improving civil activities
• Myths and beliefs about MS, fears and trust towards drugs
• Doctor-patient interaction
